Graphical abstract templates to start from
Use template artwork as a visual reference, or adapt its example prompt to your study. You can also start directly from your research description.
Link preparation, pore structure and filtration in one reading sequence.
Compare matched plants and connect leaf appearance to tissue detail.
Bring two encoding branches into a shared fusion module.
Use a molecular focal point and branches for distinct repair routes.
Connect device architecture to tissue with a transparent cutaway.

Describe your research
Paste your abstract or summarize the question, methods, and main finding. Name the key elements and describe their relationships. Submit only material you are authorized to share with generation providers.
Generate a draft
Choose a template or start from text. Add reference images if helpful, select the label language and model settings, and check the credit cost before generating.
Review and export
Check labels, arrows, and scientific relationships. Export as PNG or JPEG, or continue in Figure Layout to arrange panels and add labels. Review image specifications and AI-use policies before journal submission.
Graphical abstract maker FAQs
What should I include in my research description?
Include your research question, methods, and main finding. Name the elements, exact labels, and relationships you want represented. Keep the visual focused on one research story; the source facts and final scientific review are yours to provide.
Can I upload a PDF or paste a paper link?
This page accepts text descriptions and reference images. Paste the relevant abstract or research summary into the input box. PDF upload and paper-link parsing are not available here.
How do template references work?
Use template artwork to guide composition and style, or adapt its example prompt to your research. Your description defines the scientific content. Templates guide the overall visual direction; they do not lock exact positions or provide editable layers.
Can I use my own reference images?
After signing in, attach up to 3 PNG, JPEG, or WebP images, up to 5 MB each. Use references to suggest style or structure, and describe the scientific content you want preserved. Reference images are generation guidance, not editable layers.
Can I revise the result?
Adjust your description, template, or reference images and generate again. Each new generation uses credits, and areas beyond your requested change may also change. Figure Layout lets you arrange images and edit added panel labels. Labels and shapes inside the generated image remain embedded in the raster image.
What formats can I export?
Export the generated image as PNG or JPEG with width and DPI settings. Available output sizes depend on the source image. For assembled figures, Figure Layout also offers PNG, TIFF, PDF, and SVG. SVG export keeps added panel labels separate; it does not convert the generated image into editable vector objects.
Is the graphical abstract maker free to try?
Trial credits and generation costs appear in the composer when configuration loads. Check the displayed cost before generating, and visit Plans & credits for available options.
What should I check before using a graphical abstract?
Review the science, labels, values, and arrow directions against your research. Templates guide composition and style, so replace example content with your own findings. Check your target journal’s image requirements, AI-use policy, and disclosure rules before submission. A generated draft does not guarantee publication suitability.
How is my research processed?
AI-generated projects and downloads require your account. Your description and reference images are sent to generation providers. Check the displayed retention period and save results you need. Figure Layout projects are saved locally in your browser.
