The service

MakeFigures creates scientific diagram drafts from text and reference images and provides private PNG previews, downloads and a limited history. Generation requires an account and available credits. Trial credits and one-time credit packs use the same generation workflow. SVG conversion and object editing are not offered in this version.

Credit packs do not renew automatically. The pricing page shows the credits, validity period and available payment methods. Confirm the currency and total with the selected payment method before paying. Credits are added after payment is verified. A credit return after generation failure is separate from a cash refund; contact account support about payment or refund questions.

The tool displays the credit cost before you submit. Downloading an existing result uses no extra AI credits. Availability is subject to per-user concurrency and shared daily limits.

Your responsibilities

Submit only information you are authorized to provide to MakeFigures and the third-party services used for generation. Do not include identifying information, confidential material that cannot be shared with these providers, unlawful content or material that violates another person's rights.

Keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for reviewing every generated figure before using or publishing it, including the labels, quantities, arrows and scientific claims. A generated image is not evidence, validation or a guarantee of publication suitability.

Generation failures and retries

A confirmed failed generation returns the credits used for that generation. If submission or provider status is uncertain, the task is checked before a final result is recorded. A manual retry creates a new task and uses generation credits again. We do not automatically repeat a paid generation when its previous submission is uncertain.

A provider may process a request even when a network connection fails. The service may pause new generations while uncertain tasks are investigated or shared limits are reached.

Files and availability

PNG files are raster images, with no separate editable text or objects. Pixel dimensions are shown with the result. Check the file against the requirements of your intended use, including any publisher rules and disclosure requirements.

History is retained until the displayed expiry date. Download files you need to keep. Completed figures can be deleted earlier. Service interruptions may delay processing and file cleanup.

Rights and support

Submitting content does not authorize MakeFigures to publish your research in a public gallery. Rights to generated output also depend on the applicable provider terms and rights in the supplied material; the service does not promise exclusive or infringement-free output.
